There’s a change in the September air and you can’t help but love it. After one very humid summer, wearing jeans and dark colors is quite wonderful without roasting in them. But here’s the thing I’ve come to realize: Anna Wintour absolutely hates “all black everything” which many of us – myself included – have made our honorary fall/winter uniforms. Eeep! What’s a girl to do when the queen of fashion herself shuns our safety nets? She improvises..

Charcoal is the new black, as well as any dark gray that might as well be a shade or two lighter than the original color. It’s relatively softer on the eyes and in my opinion, more approachable when worn in uniformed pairs. The only obvious element of this look that doesn’t correlate are my flint sneaks but like black, charcoal allows for many options of alternative color combos.
