According to the UV 11 Index this past weekend, my skin has never been more burnt and my spirit has never felt so lifted – all thanks to a mini yet incredible vacation. From Saturday to Tuesday I ventured back to a familiar place – Folly Beach/Charleston, SC – with my best friends from home to escape NYC for a hot sec (legit no pun intended there.) We rented a unit in this cute pink house only five blocks from the beach and spent our days on sand and in salt water.
After graduating from the University of South Carolina May 2014, I didn’t know when the next time I’d visit would be and very happy I jumped on this opportunity. My skin however..it could be happier at the moment. And yes, I applied SPF 55 religiously every hour of each day – ozone getting feisty it seems..
Of all the bikinis I brought for this trip, my custom-made Kini Swimwear set made most of the appearances. Frankly, I just love the fact that I designed it myself – from style to fit and color. It definitely was one of its kind all weekend long, and its modern bumble bee vibe served an unintentional purpose of standing out in the water.
**PS! Now through Sunday (6/21) you can get a custom-made bikini set for only $120!
Here are some photos from our trip – beautiful sunrises & sunsets, Ahi Tuna that I couldn’t get enough of (I swear I survived on that and crab cakes all weekend long) and my incredible best friends. They say if you can spend over 72 hours with someone without any degree of tension, then you have a rare find. We’ve exceeded the minimum and became even closer now than we have been our last 8 years together. Cheers to my ladies.
In an unfortunate coincidence, this post couldn’t have been published at a more appropriate time with the situation at hand in Charleston, SC now. Prayers to everyone there to remain safe and thoughts are with the families of loved ones lost <3
