Stripes can get tricky to wear, often times because they can appear less than flattering especially if the article of clothing lacks any sort of shape. That’s why this fit-and-flare dress is the exception to the suggestion of avoiding horizontal stripes.

Rather than widening my figure, the fit of this dress accentuates in the right places of where it hits my waist and where it flows out into a skirt. Not to mention the asymmetrical nature of the direction these stripes are going also plays in my favor, as well as adds a unique visual touch.
