Not always figure flattering but a pair of boyfriend jeans can really make you appreciate the comfort of denim when you’re sick of shoving yourself into skinnies. Besides, sporting the same style gets old and repetitive, so why not go the opposite direction once and a while? Like I always say: there’s a system to wearing loose fitting clothes that actually make them work on a more sophisticated level. The trick is to pair up with structure & height; if you need a refresher, you can recall last week’s 3-step recipe to cheat the system.

OUTFIT DETAILS

Topshop boyfriend jeans (old) – similar | H&M top | Steve Madden heeled sandals | Ray-Ban sunnies

I have to admit, I’m very proud of my efforts to incorporate florals and more feminine prints into my wardrobe this season. Striving for the perfect blend of girly edge, finding a floral print in a cooler color such as blue/purple eases the transitional change. Note how the top’s unique cut and close fit make these somewhat slouchy boyfriend jeans appear longer. Not to mention the addition of a wide-block heel sandal doesn’t hurt to emphasize the structure that comes with the height.
