Both spring & summer have been seasons of color for me in the wardrobe department. Even I still can’t believe I used to be so anti anything bright…& I had the nerve to call myself @tobebright. UHM HELLO – Where have I been until now?
I’ll tell you: I was in a place where I was trying too hard to fit in when I should’ve been following my journey to stand out. Cliché, I know. But I definitely feel like I’ve found myself in a better (more colorful) place, both mentally and physically, when I started taking off the shades and smiling for the camera.
Blogging has always been a platform of personal growth for me. Putting myself out there (& here) and allowing vulnerability to come in has been a major contributor to my self-development over the last 5 years. When I compare myself now to a year ago, I can visually see the changes I’ve mentally made in the last 365 days. These are the moments where I’m so thankful to have this timeline to reflect and respect my journey to being the best version of myself that I can present.
Ok, sappiness over! 😀
I hadn’t realised you never used to like colours Tilden. I’ll have to hop back and compare. I think we are all evolving. Love how you write btw xx
I know, it’s so crazy to think about now that my closet is full of every color in the rainbow! Thank you for your sweet words Maria xx
This is so interesting to read. I love your blog name and i think the background for this post is perfect!

Oh my gosh, I can relate! I used to wear dark colors, lots of black.. but the blog has made me truly look at what i enjoy, and enjoy wearing and that is color. lots of different colors. You look wonderful in this dress, I am favoring midi dresses too and i love that style of sandal. I finally got a pair of white slides I have been wearing non stop. Great look!

That’s too funny! I guess our blogs always had our best interest in mind, we just had to discover it for ourselves. Looking back at it now, I’m definitely enjoying living life in color WAY more! & YAAAS to white slides! I’ve worn mine almost into the ground xx
Aw, the style of this dress is SO cute! I have one v similar but it’s not quite as bright (it’s entirely black, such a shocker for my all neutral wardrobe LOL). But I totally feel you! I’ve been blogging for a similar amount of time and it’s crazy how much change you can visually track through our posts!!
It’s legit like looking at a personal timeline, but with the option to back track day-by-day. Sometimes I look at my first outfits I ever posted in 2014 and can’t believe I thought some of those looked “cool”… hahah x
I can totally relate to everything you’re saying here! Putting yourself out there on the internet can be scary but also leads to amazing connections and opportunities. I used to be afraid of wearing bright colours too but now I can’t get enough of them! I love your pretty mint midi dress, and the backdrop with the flowers is stunning! Thanks for linking up!
