As the heat wave kicks it into high gear, you may wonder why I chose the wonderful color black for the occasion. Truth is, I underestimated what ‘feels like 100’ actually meant. BUT, no one would know I was struggling through the fiery streets of the city by using black as my wardrobe coverup.
Typically, on a normal summer day, this outfit wouldn’t have to serve as a safety net for unwanted perspiration marks not seen by the naked eye. In fact, I loved this look’s casual edge it made me feel, as well as the comfort and flexibility of the material.
Pairing a solid with a pattern, I emphasized the shorts and kept the jewelry simple. Choosing tan brown as my coordinating color, I picked a pair of comfortable, yet less than ordinary sandals & a simple tote-made-shoulder bag. Although the pieces are simple, each has a distinct characteristic that makes them less solid and plain like my lightweight shirt choice, which needed to stay neutral so not to distract from the shorts.
