Say it ain’t so…but the time has come to retire those made-for-summer ensembles and redirect the outfit focus to transitional pieces for Fall. However I couldn’t be more excited to kick off the start to a new season with Banana Republic! Today and tomorrow’s looks will be focused on my selected trend for Banana Republic’s Fall Report: Daytime Shine (metallics & sheen).

This metallic, pleated mini skirt is a great shade of burnt orange that triggers my mind of pumpkin season – from the vegetable to the spiced latte. But while the temps outside still feel like summer, it’s not yet appropriate to pull out the cozy knit sweater that would make this look very fall-esque. Instead I’m opting for a casual tee that dresses the skirt down for more of a daytime approach.

If my heart desires, I can swap my top and shoes to dressier styles that can take this look right into the evening. But knowing a chic skirt such as this can be worn beyond after hour occasions is an important and functional quality that makes me really appreciate it.
