Despite Gen Z’ers making the claim that skinny jeans are (somehow) out of style, I still have no desire to 1) dress like a 14-year-old, nor 2) get rid of any pairs of jeans that hug me close. Yet that doesn’t mean every pair of denim I own fits the mold of skinny. In fact, I’ve been on The Mom Jean bandwagon for several years because they only keep getting better with the fit – straight leg to the ankle and still flattering around the curves. On days where I need a bit more fabric to feel comfortable, The Mom Jean is my go-to.

The Mom “Henry” Jean | Ribbed Sweater | Corduroy Jacket | Sneakers

A slightly-darker wash than I normally gravitate towards, but I’m obsessed with the vintage vibe this pair gives off. I kept the look casual with a simple sweater & low top sneaks, topped with a corduroy jacket (on sale right now) as my outer layer. The fit hits right below my belly-button, so not super high-waisted but definitely not mid-rise neither. Overall just right!

The Mom “John” Jean | Striped Tee | Cardigan Sweater | Loafers

Normally I consider a striped tee (which is on sale btw!) as something worn candidly but with the inclusion of a black cardi & loafers, this dark wash pair of denim adds the perfect touch of dressy casual to the top. This fit is slightly higher than the first pair, but definitely not suffocatingly tight like some high-risers can be – gotta love a Mom Jean for avoiding that! I’m obsessed with the distressed details & uneven hem of the ankle, too.
