Against The Grain

Blending neutrals is one of my favorite past times, but introducing a color is something new I’ve come to enjoy this winter. When wearing various shades of a color – in this case, brown – adding something muted but completely opposite the color wheel – like the color olive green – makes for a look that draws the eye. While on the theory of “opposites attract,” pieces correspond with one another in terms of opposing fits.

Loose-fit joggers worn above the waist pair nicely with tighter-fitting crops, not to mention is a nice way to incorporate those summer styles during the winter. Add a teddy coat for warmth and you’re good to go. Going against the grain of winter neutral dressing can be fun with color, so don’t be afraid to experiment with what you got hibernating in that closet of yours. Oh, and a puppy looks good with this outfit too if you didn’t notice. Love when people walking by – and coincidentally happen to be photographers themselves – let me borrow their puppies for some shots – it’s a nice way to break the ice when posing in public. Shop similar below:
