Out of all the brands I have an emotional connection to, I have to say that Under Armour holds the title of most prominent in my life. I’ve worn UA all throughout my childhood, from rec soccer & lacrosse to high school field hockey, but what really pioneered my connection to it was in college, during my student athlete years on The University of South Carolina’s NCAA D1 Equestrian Team; Under Armour was our team sponsored brand.
As I described in this recent IG post, I spent a majority of my teenage years in the saddle. This resulted in missing close to 3 total months of school EACH year, throughout most of my middle school years and all four of my high school years. Riding & competing at a National level was practically a full-time job leading up to my recruitment & signing for USC’s team. But it wasn’t until I was wearing my team UA garnet polo while standing on the field of Williams Brice Stadium, amongst all the freshman student athletes & during half time of our first home football game, that I truly felt a sense of pride in myself for all that I’ve accomplished in my riding career. For the first time in all of my years, I felt like a true athlete.
…
Although I’ve traded my saddle in for other forms of physical activity these days, kayaking included, I still get that sense of student athlete pride whenever I wear my UA gear today. I’m reminded of the hard work that went into my former years every time I sport the UA logo, which is a very gratifying feeling to have when working out. It’s like having a friend there who’s constantly praising your past & contributing to today’s motivation.
Under Armour is an honest, real brand that inspires us to be & do our best in all endeavors. Below I go into further detail behind the specific UA Women’s pieces I’m wearing & how they help me to perform my best in my workouts today.
..
UA RUSH™
A new line of workout gear created from innovative fabrics infused with minerals proven to improve performance. I’m wearing the tank top in black, but it also comes in three other colors – pink fog, ash taupe, and downpour gray. It’s a next-to-skin fit without the squeeze, making it the perfect top for all those on-the-floor abs that can cause unwarranted shirt movement.
ARMOUR™
Simple & classic is sometimes all it takes. Although you can’t see it, this particular sports bra has made itself known when it comes to comfort during my workouts. It fits compressed with a classic racer back design, giving me an enhanced range of motion when doing any sort of arm press workouts. Plus, it’s ideal for us ladies sizing in the A to C cup range.
HEATGEAR™
Like how it sounds, this line is made for optimum performance in the warmest of climates. These compression leggings come in 3 colors (I’m wearing downpour gray) & have a second-skin fit for a locked-in feel, making them perfect for running & HIIT classes. Because it’s designed for wearing the heat, the fabric wicks sweat & dries really fast; plus, the mesh panels on the bottom help for extra breathability.
UA BREATHE™
Similar to above, this lightweight line is designed to let an athlete’s foot breathe during performance. I love how fun & colorful these purple & white trainers are, along with the synthetic heel counter for added stability & support. These kicks give my knees some relief during those box jumps for sure.
Those are awesome photos! I really like Under Armour–will definitely have to check out the UA Rush line!
