Minus that last fun fact unbeknownst to me, a check print is my favorite way to incorporate color and/or texture to an outfit that would be otherwise basic. Not that basic is something to avoid [people love basic] but it can appear repetitive and boring if styled a few posts in a row. In this case, a check coat achieves the same satisfaction as a statement necklace but a better choice if you want to stand out in the sea of black coats on the street. Shop similar below:
