There are some outfits that serve as your self-confidence’s wingman – you feel your best when they’re around (your body) because they make you feel good about yourself & to the world you face. For me, that would be the simple combination of denim and sneakers. I’ve lost count of how many pairs (of each) I presently own but I promise each one serves a special purpose in my closet.

Denim and a classic canvas sneaker – such as the Wingman by Simple Shoes – allow for the flexibility of dressing up or down, depending on how you’re feeling. I love taking my blouse choice a step in the dressier direction by incorporating detailed texture such as crochet and lace. The best part about a simple outfit such as this is the choice of neutrals that make the look easy yet chic – just my kinda look.

If you look closely at my sneakers, you can see by the stitching detail that this design is far from simple. Little additions of thread in particular places – like the toe of the shoe’s surface – give it more than the average canvas sneaker, while still allowing for easy outfit incorporation. By the way for any of you readers needing arch support, these sneakers are FAR FROM FLAT. The cork-style insole actually has an arch inside that I was not expecting when sliding my foot in for the first time, but oh so happy it exists! Again, another detail keeping these sneakers far from simple in design but very simple in appearance. Shop similar below:
