When it comes to my desk space, there’s no place I’d rather put my heart and soul into perfecting. This is where I need to feel the most productive and successful, both mentally and in the physical result of hard work done. I’ve changed it up more than 10x since moving into my studio one year ago – from position in my square footage layout to what lies on the desk surface, everything’s taken into consideration. Once I landed on the perfect place to have my desk, I moved onto the second most important factor: the decor.
I spend 70% of my time on my computer editing photos, answering emails, and drafting posts such as this for my blog’s weekly content. It’s a 24-7 job that requires the utmost dedication if I want my passion to be worthwhile as a business. That being said, the space I surround myself with should provoke dedication and a work-driven mindset. For me, framed typography wall art is a great reminder to stay focused if I find myself zoning out from time to time. Another important styling tip I’ve found to work for my habits is a minimalist desk surface – leaving one to two things physically on my desk at a time. This allows for a clean space to lay my planner and take mental notes as I work – yes, I’m one of those humans who physically writes to-do lists. I find I retain the information that much better when I actively write it out.
My obsession for interior design and re-vamping spaces in my apartment is often fed by the brands I love to shop my home decor from, especially Pottery Barn.
