Fall is all about change and transition. Whether it be a fresh trim or color job, adapting a new routine while ridding those old habits or trying something new in the fall fashion trend department, there’s something in the air that gives us an edge of motivation to change things up. Now as someone who thrives on positive karma and truly admires this season’s fashion, my first concern is getting all those fall favorites out of closet hibernation and wearing them to my heart’s content.
I’ll be making trend-focused changes with my AW14 wardrobe but since the season has only just begun, I want to focus on the fall staples every girl – and possibly some guys – must have access to. For me, these include: any denim wash, oversized scarves, plaid patterns, longer tops in neutrals, wool floppy hats and heeled ankle booties with character. Phew that’s a lot but if you think about it, there are SO MANY outfit variations that can be made with these key pieces.
As far as trendy changes go, I’m thinking along the lines of incorporating t-shirt slit maxi dresses over jeans and low-top sneakers with laces for now. Layering will be a priority while the weather remains crisp not cold because once those coats are sported, they’re out and about until spring. Let’s just try to take this one season at a time – we all know we’re going to miss the previous one once we’re frostbitten and miserable.
