FGI Ready-To-Wear Trend Report

Unknown-1

Last night, I was invited to showcase TBB prior to the FGI Trend Report event. I was one of five students – two bloggers including myself and three designers – displaying our work for attendees. The experience was wonderful in all aspects, especially the opportunity to personally showcase TBB for Rosanna Krekel – Founder & CEO, La Vita E Bella.

The report’s presentation consisted of trend highlights predicted for spring-summer 2014. My disorganized & brain dead self forgot to bring a notebook & pen, so I ferociously typed everything on an iPhone note and pray I can unscramble the words I attempted to remember. Amongst the highly-predicted styles, expect slip-on sneakers, overalls, crop tops and text/logo prints to make a comeback with new aesthetics.

From fabric to color to hair & makeup, every part of any garment imaginable was covered. Cotton is king for SS14, blush tones and warm pastels intend to heat up the season and less is more with the off-duty model vanity look.

I received a visit from ASOS and showed off a little campus rep for my favorite retailer across the pond. I’m more than eager to attend this event and hopefully a show in the near future. Fingers crossed!
