Happy Monday! Can you believe we’re already into July!? Pretty crazy but at least the weather caught up with us…and then some. We’re having the hottest streak on record in the Northeast at the moment!

Getting that bikini body is still a full-time job during the summer; you gotta keep maintaining. Unfortunately, working out in heat like this is not in my wheel house – it’s also incredibly dangerous. So how have I been able to keep it up without making weather-related excuses and still being able to enjoy the beach? By dedicating my workouts to earlier hours.

For two major reasons, I start my workouts early each morning: 1) to beat the heat, and 2) to enjoy the rest of my day ahead. I find getting it out of the way, while it’s still cool out, gives me the most energy that lasts throughout the daylight hours, leaving me more productive and with more time to enjoy the sunshine if the opportunity arises.

Two times a week, the mornings I’m not running outside, you’ll see me taking a 30/60/90 class. This high intensity interval training (HIIT) class is not the easiest to take but if you’re willing to dedicate time, it can easily become the source of your 6-pack sooner than ANYTHING else! Trust me, I’ve been doing it for 4 1/2 months now and STILL taking time to catch my breath, but I’ve never been in such great shape!

The best part is that you can modify EVERYTHING in the class, and it only lasts 45 minutes! You get so much out if it and feel like a rockstar at the end despite looking like you jumped into a pool – prepare to sweat 10x more than usual. Another benefit is that you keep burning calories for close to 48 hours afterward, so don’t feel guilty indulging in that well-deserved beverage or meal later that evening.

Right now my sister is in the training program to become an instructor! She’s teaching Friends & Family community classes for FREE this month and would love to recruit some potential new clients!

If you’re in the NYC area and interested in trying this class out to see if it’s for you, FREE OF CHARGE, shoot me an email so I can add you to her list!
