Did you know a lot of your summer florals have second season potential? You’d be surprised how many transitional outfits you can put together using prints that normally wouldn’t be a thought by mid-late September. After assessing how many floral pieces I currently own (seriously..too much), I knew I had to make them worth keeping by getting another 2 months of wear in them. So the experimentation of pairing lighter florals with darker colored denim, swapping sandals out for booties instead, & trading straw hats in for ones with felt brims began!
If you check out my IG Highlight here, you can watch the whole process of how I came to put this outfit option together. I also show another look using this same floral top with a pair of jeans. At the end of the day, it’s all trial & error but as long as you keep a balance in mind, you really can’t go wrong.
I’ve also included several fall floral long sleeve blouses, along with darker denim picks, that caught my eye in the shop slider at the end of this post – some might already be in my online cart… (whoopsie!)

Tilden, this is such a great transitional outfit and your blog post title is so great! I love the mix of the fall colors and adding booties with black denim shorts. I may need to try to style something similar before the weather gets too cool! Thanks for joining Your Own Twist link party!
