I’m not someone who regularly changes up her jewelry. What I strive for are staple pieces that can seamlessly be incorporated into every outfit I wear, for any occasion. So naturally, I gravitate towards minimalist gold hardware because I find myself more attracted to the way it looks on my skin tone & with my hair color.

I’ve had my moments of wearing lower-quality pieces because I appreciated the price point. But here’s the problem going that cheaper direction: with constant wear comes the visible tear. The metal begins to tarnish & looks dirty in appearance, and sometimes you’re left with an unsightly skin reaction to the cheap metal.

At this point in my young adult life, I should be wearing finer jewelry. It looks better & lasts longer, which is essential for those, like myself, who rarely take them off. But there’s a stereotypical assumption is that fine jewelry has to come at a cost, otherwise why would we subject ourselves to purchases not up to that caliber?
