My entire life entails the mispronunciation & misspelling of my first name. Variations unbeknownst to me have surfaced throughout my 22 years and when I say it annoys me, that’s putting it very lightly.
Not only do I have an alter ego at Starbucks named Taylor when I order my coffee, I can never anticipate buying a name souvenir in a gift shop ever (unless I settle for “#1 daughter” – that’s the closest I’ll ever get).
My first name, TILDEN, is six-letters, very straight-forward. All of fifth grade, my teacher spelled it TILDON and despite my many attempts to correct her, no such luck. It’s definitely the most common misspelling variation. So when I discovered the brand Tildon, my jaw dropped – literally. I couldn’t (and still can’t) believe it exists.
I checked out the collection on Nordstrom’s online site and I have to say, I’m very pleased. I found quite a few pieces that I like, some correlating with my personal style tremendously. Maybe this is a sign that I should warm up to the name and accept the personal grammar flaws associated with it. It led me to a new discovery, so it can’t be all that bad right?
