There’s no denying that SKIMS by Kim Kardashian has made headlines all over the place (primarily social media) and I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect to fall victim to the hype behind it. I mean it’s only shape wear at the end of the day, it’s nothing new or revolutionary. I’ve never found the need for extra support under my clothes before but then again, I stopped wearing tight dresses for a reason… One of my best friends has been RAVING about her SKIMS since getting them so I figured if I wanted to wear those slip dresses more comfortably, maybe I should give it a try myself & see why people can’t get enough.

Easier said than done – it took me TWO MONTHS to finally get a pair anything in my size. And I’ll be honest, the demand for SKIMS and having to wait made me want them even more (such a powerful mind trick.) After stalking the site for weeks, I wised up and joined the waitlist to be notified when my size would be back in stock. Within a few days, I got a text alert notifying me of a size restock AND the launch of the new SKIMS Essential Bodysuit. I set an alarm and right at 12pm EST, I added one pair of sculpt shorts & this black bodysuit to my cart & proceeded to checkout immediately.

You guys…I totally get the hype now. I’ve never worn something so comfortable, so flattering, and so body-friendly IN MY LIFE. The material is like butter and unlike most sculpting shape wear & bodysuits, nothing is making me feel like I’m being cut in half or riding up my ass in all the wrong ways. There’s a reason everything sells out so fast & it’s because SKIMS has truly changed the game in shape wear. My strong suggestion: sign up for the waitlist of each item you’re interested in & opt-in for the text alerts; you’ll get the opportunity to know of launches/restocks FIRST and be able to set an alarm accordingly. When the time comes to shop, add to cart and checkout ASAP so you don’t fall victim to any sell outs within the first 10 minutes – yes, it happens that fast.
