LuckyFabb West 2014 | Overview

Another amazing LuckyFabb has come & past, but I couldn’t have been more appreciative and thankful to be able to partake once again — this time, in Los Angeles! I’ve always wanted to go to California so now that I can successfully cross this off my bucket list, it’s time to recap on my day-to-day adventures in the Golden State with Lucky Magazine.

Day One:

My blogger bestie Julia of Trends & Tomfoolery and I stayed at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, where the conference was held for the two days. The night before, we attended the Pre-Fabb Cocktail event and got to meet a bunch of other fashion & beauty bloggers also attending the conference.

We got in line one hour before the doors opened in order to reserve those front row seats All-Access ticket holders are allowed to sit in. Our time paid off and we got to sit side by side in the front row — almost close enough see every feature of the beautiful [Lucky Magazine Editor-in-Chief] Eva Chen’s face.

In-between guest speakers & panels — including Sophia Amoruso of Nasty Gal and Nicole Richie of House of Harlow — we went to the Brand Experiences rooms where brands were representing their products & holding social media competitions for attendees. As All-Access ticket holders, we got to go into the Gifting Suite, where both Julia and me received gifts of designer jeans, handbags and opportunities to affiliate with the select brands.

After a tasty lunch, we broke off into sessions we signed up for prior to the event and gained a better understanding about the tips of the trade, so to speak. The best part was getting to hear how Aimee Song of Song of Style garnered her success and how she became one of the most influential style bloggers today.

The sessions concluded with a cocktail hour, serving mixed beverages & mini champagne bottles on behalf of Lucky & its event sponsors.

Day One Outfit: Asos joggers | F21 top | Rowen flats | UO hair chain

Later that night..

Both Julia & I were invited to attend the LookMazing x Madewell event at The Grove in LA from 7-9 PM. We got to style Madewell pieces for a Coachella-inspired look that are now live on the LookMazing site and competing for “winks” for a chance to win a $100 Madewell gift card! I encourage anyone interested in shoppable fashion to make a LookMazing account!

Unlike all pins on Pinterest, LookMazing directly links the items in a picture to a site selling them. Can you say THANK YOU!? It’s so frustrating falling in love with a look on Pinterest with absolutely no origin or detail.

We sipped on blueberry cocktails and shopped around, networking with bloggers and the LookMazing staff all attending the event. Overall, it was an amazing social event with such a great concept behind it.

Day Two:

A networking brunch from 10 AM – 12 PM was the event of the day planned for LuckyFabb. We got to spend those two hours on a beautiful patio adjacent to the hotel’s restaurant, where we again sipped beverages and got to interact with both bloggers and brands.

Day Two Outfit: Topshop jeans | F21 top | Dolce Vita loafers | Rebecca Minkoff bag

At the conclusion of the event, we received our “swag bags” which primarily consisted of beauty products that I’ve been desperately needing but not willing to spend money on. It’s safe to say I won’t be needing to buy shampoo and conditioner for a while :]

Once again, another amazing LuckyFabb experience. I’m already counting down the days until the October one in NYC!
