Merry Christmas Eve, My Friends!
It’s finally here & I’m so excited for all that’s to come in the next 48 hours! Today’s post is short, as I’m going to be extraordinary busy today getting ready for tonight’s party & tomorrow’s dinner. However, I wanted to share with you all some of my favorite Christmas traditions I’ve held up on my end, along with my inner circle, that always give me tremendous joy with each year.
These are the traditions I’m going to try to instill upon my future family, as they’ve lasted beyond the years of baking cookies for Santa & leaving carrots outside for the reindeer (which I’m totally bringing back for my future kiddos.)
Visit the NYC Christmas Spots & Festive Bars
Spots include the windows at Saks Fifth Ave & Bergdorf Goodman, The Rockefeller Tree, The Winter Village at Bryant Park, & The Shops at Union Square. Bars include Rolf’s, Molly’s, & Paddy Maguire’s Ale House.
Watch ’25 Days of Christmas’ on Freeform (aka ABC Family)
Decorate the Tree with the Family
As we’ve gotten older, we try to set one night to go home & decorate the tree as a family. We usually order takeout (either pizza or thai food), turn on the Christmas music, & cozy up in the living room, all together in our pjs.
Donate to Coat Drives for the Less Fortunate
I go through my coat closet & donate whatever I can to those who could use a warm outer layer this time of year. Here are some of the NYC-based drop-off locations for donations.
Open One Present on Christmas Eve
We used to exchange ‘sister’ gifts when we were younger; now, we exchange with friends during our shared Christmas Eve parties.
Bake a Yule Log for Christmas Day Dessert
Given we host Christmas Day dinner most years, we try to make this delicious dessert dish for everyone to enjoy. With each year, it gets better & better! Here’s a recipe we’ve tried in the past & added onto over the years.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS?
Wishing you all a magical, wonderful holiday with family, friends, & loved ones.
