Anyone else a huge Friends fan? I might have you beat with the fact that I’ve re-watched the entire 10 season series, from start to finish, almost 3x now.. Next on my agenda is to tackle Friends Trivia which I’ve heard is close to impossible. Challenge accepted.
So it’s no surprise I had to photograph my favorite tee in front of the infamous building that acts as the apartment exterior for 4 of the 6 friends in the show. On a normal day, you’ll see groups of people flocking to the opposite corner to capture a shot of this landmark building – yes, it’s known as the ‘Friends Apartment‘ on Google Maps. In order to beat the paparazzi, we made sure to get here extra early so I could pose as the fan girl I am without hundreds of eyes watching; talk about a great example of getting over my fear of being photographed publicly!

You’ll notice a small section of painted red on the street level of 90 Bedford St. What acted as “Central Perk” in the show is actually a mediterranean restaurant called The Little Owl. It has been there since before the series began, gaining in popularity with the show over time, and continues to hold its position with the competitive reservation list.
I had to wait 2 weeks before getting to experience it for the first time, and OH MY LANTA it was INCREDIBLE! I highly recommend going if you’re in town or have it on your bucket list like I did. Just be sure to reserve it in advance. In terms of food, they’re known for their Meatball Sliders and you should definitely try them for yourself if meat is part of your diet. We ordered them as apps and ended up loving them so much that we ordered another round after our entrees!

Thank you Ruth!! xx
I love that restaurant! We ate there a year ago and my son was also there just a few weeks ago. It’s a great neighbourhood, I think. Perfect outfit! xx
OMG I’ve been craving the sliders every day since! Yes totally agree, neighborhood is so charming & so great for pictures too! xx
What a great setting for your shoot – and thank you for the information about the restaurant! I’ve visited NYC many times but never made it to this location. Will definitely plan ahead and book next time! You look wonderful in your nineties nostalgia shoot. I love Friends too! Thank you for sharing, and for being a part of the Hearth and Soul Link Party. Hope to see you again this week. Have a great week ahead!
