This is what I call the “modern American renaissance” outfit. You have classic, durable denim representing the hardy rebels of past American generations below, and feminine, delicate lace with roots familiar to the European Romantic Movement on top. To finish the look, a pair of blue suede loafers with a gold buckle pulls inspiration from both time periods. Basically, this is my interpretation of blending two historical clothing cultures into a modern day casual ensemble in the year 2014. Yes, you can laugh at my history references all you want (because I am) yet I will say this description is much more entertaining than saying, “Here’s my white top with my regular wash jeans.”
