The first thing some of you might say is, “Why the hell are you wearing those?” My answer: “If your favorite pair of pants and shorts had a baby, wouldn’t you want to see what that looked like as well?”
Culottes were hot back in the 70’s when paired with a bikini top and just like the retro decade trend has predicted, they’re back in 21st Century style. I consider myself much more comfortable in pants by nature — I really don’t know why that is, but so be it. However, when it’s so F-ing hot out and pants are a no-go, you have to consider alternatives for comfort in this summer heat.
Best part, this casual variation of the culotte can be swapped out to be a great evening look. Exchange my tee for a crop top and my sneaks for a pair of heels.
Although I won’t be substituting these snakeskin bebes yet; I’ve wanted them forever and Steve Madden must have known because he made sure to have them arrive the day before my birthday on Friday. Such a nice man. Oh and don’t mind my bandaged heel in the last shot.. #21again. Shop similar below:
