I can’t believe it’s been OVER A YEAR since I last attended a wedding.. All the more reason this upcoming season is extra exciting! We have a handful this year due to rescheduling from last, as well as several that were always intended for this year (including our own.) For more casual-meets-formal wedding events during the earlier weeks of Spring/Summer, I personally find a long/quarter-sleeve Maxi Dress to be the way to go. They provide the perfect amount of coverage from cooler temps while still allowing tons of flowy & breezy movement.

If you’re attending a wedding event that leans more towards the formal side of cocktail attire, then you might want to consider a long-line slip dress with a side-slit (emphasis on the slit here because there’s nothing more awkward than trying to walk in a dress this length that doesn’t have one…) Since this one has limited coverage up top, layering with a cropped jacket or sweater would provide an approachable amount of comfort from cooler temps. Although this exact style is currently S/O, here’s a similar dress in the same print if you’re a fan of the colors.

Lastly, there’s always the simple beauty of a wrap/belted Mini Dress (with pockets!) for wedding events that might be more casual in setting (i.e. beach or backyard venue.) Out of the three I’ve styled here, this dress option is probably the best for pre-wedding events as well as other Spring/Summer occasions that call for dressing up a little.
