White denim after Labor Day: keep wearing or pack away?
Personally, I never let a holiday determine what I can & can’t wear in my closet. I do however let the season dictate my color palette. But with white behaving as such a neutral (blank canvas if you will), it’s hard for me not to continue wearing it – especially during this grieving time of saying goodbye to beautiful summer.
I say YES to white denim in September, even early October, because the weather says we can. This is also a time where we can make the most of our wardrobes by getting creative with transitional outfits that bring together the best of both seasons.
Because white denim is naturally a summer staple, the trick is to pair it up with darker colors more frequent in nature during the fall season (shades of tan, hunter green, burnt orange & red, & purple). I fell in love with this wine colored top, especially the laser cut notches in the sleeves & down the back, and found it really popped against the white.
Another trick is to match up complimentary colors, especially when it comes to footwear & accessories. Given this wine colored top leans towards the purple department on the color wheel, I decided to play with its complimentary hue directly across from it – aka yellow – and opting for the golden metallic route rather than opaque.
