When it comes to my winter wardrobe, there’s not a lot of differentiation when it comes to my daily outfits. Normally, I’m dressing myself in the same situation each day – skinny jeans, ankle booties, & some sort of knit layer with a heavy puffer coat on top. While I still don’t see much of a change from the overdone & regular, I did opt to try two new styles in the outerwear & boot departments that I’m delightfully pleased about & excited to share with you all today.

THE PONCHO
I didn’t see myself going for this kind of outerwear vibe but once I felt the softness of this faux-fur material, how could I not..? To be fair, I don’t see this as an everyday winter outerwear choice for myself when the temps hit below 40 degrees; but in terms of wearing around the house, as an extra layer instead a cardigan, or during the Spring, this poncho is an excellent choice! I’ve also found wearing a thin, long-sleeved top (or bodysuit) underneath to be the most effective layer, especially for when you plan to take it off when indoors.
This poncho I’m wearing is from Johnston & Murphy & unfortunately sold out, but below are a few more turtleneck styles I found during my online browsing:
THE ROPER BOOT
This particular pair of high-ankle boots caught my eye when I was in the Johnston & Murphy showroom helping T find a new sports jacket/blazer for our upcoming trip to London (he ended up going with this super sharp one here.) I was looking for something different than all my other pairs of ankle boots that was still stylish as it was comfortable to wear all day long. Needless to say, I ONLY wore this pair on our London trip throughout the 3 days of endless walking (& many rainstorms) because they were so so comfortable! Definitely the perfect boot for all-day wear in the city. I find pairing with skinny jeans show off its height & shape best, along with darker indigo, grey, & faded black washes to emphasize its color leather.
Ps, this Lenora style also comes in black and a lighter brown (I’m wearing the dark brown) + is currently on sale! I recommend sizing up 1/2 if you want a comfier fit, as I found the women’s shoes to run on the narrow side from J&M.
I had a friend who was absolutely obsessed with ponchos and I also thought they were so ugly and uncomfortable because they had no sleeves so I thought you couldn’t move properly. Fast forward all these years and I see all these cute ponchos and after trying one on, they’re actually very comfortable and cozy. The one you’re wearing is so cute, and I like the boots too, they look so neutral in terms of style and fit they could go with everything.
OMG that poncho is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! It looks super snug and cozy too!

Ok, you make a poncho look good girl! I have one that I’ve never worn, but it’s def cozy like you said. I love that style of boot too, easy to pull on and gives a little room around the lower part of the leg. You look fab!
