Tis’ the season for holiday gatherings of all kinds. From cocktail parties to travel destinations, dressing for the occasion is always fun when keeping the festive spirit of the month in mind. I enjoy participating within the general theme the holiday season inspires, wardrobe wise – velvet, metallics, sequins, etc. of all colors of silver, gold, red, white, and green. But there are moments where I find versatility in a piece that extends past the holiday season, coming together in an outfit that lasts all winter long.

I’ve teamed up with Banana Republic to showcase a look that works for all occasions surrounding the holidays – starting with an overcoat I didn’t realize I needed until now! I’m in love with the richness of its navy color, not to mention the structure that lies within the double-breasted button detail. This concept helps to make a coat with a larger volume of fabric appear more tailored. Navy is also a color that works with just about everything in a closet (from solids to metallics, especially silver!) so the versatility factor is a huge plus – personally, I like when navy and black is combined…some don’t feel the same.

Coming together with this navy & denim look is the perfect blouse for date night, in my opinion! This tie-neck top is silky to the touch, in a great & versatile color, and even has a subtle metallic sheen when in the right light. I love how it looks with a pair of distressed jeans as well as with black leather leggings, making it a great option for day-to-night inspired outfits.

Although these pieces don’t follow the standard color theme, they’ve proven to me that no matter where I’m going for the holidays, I’ll be sure to arrive in style.
