Almost Friday friends! Hang in there, I have faith in us all. Last night I went to see my childhood friend Phoebe Ryan perform her second show on her Boyz N Poizn Tour and had WAY TOO MUCH FUN. On top of reminiscing with childhood friends who all came to see her, it was such an incredible moment to see her stand on that stage owning it all. Couldn’t be prouder of mah girl!

I’ve had this white matching set for a year now and found myself wearing it separately more than together over the last 365 days. But when I put it on I noticed two things: 1) The top shrunk in the wash, and 2) the off-white situation going on with the skirt when compared to the top… I promise both were watched together & in the whites. So bizarre. Naturally this distracted me as well as the overall snore the coordinating set appeared on it’s own. I needed something to add a touch of edge while still working for a day-to-night situation.

When it doubt, resort to the color black and think outside the box. In my particular moment of creativity I aimed for the addition of simple slides rather than a go-to heel. By the way, these slides are probably the most comfortable pair I own, no joke. The arch support is out of this word which we know is very unique for a sandal this style. Plus I’m comfortable walking around all about town in these, as a heel would probably begin to take its toll on me if I chose to sport them instead.

Keeping black in mind I needed to do something about breaking up the discolored and shortened coordinating set. Introducing the silk scarf-turned belt feature. Seeing that it’s too hot to wear any kind of layer around my neck or shoulders during the day, tying the material around my waist seemed to fit the situation I was dealing with quite nicely. On top of that it completely transformed this look from blah to bold! Definitely going to try this accessory strategy more often going forward.
