The mission behind Reebok’s Perfect Never campaign couldn’t be more inspirational. It’s a reminder that no one is perfect and in fact, being perfect is tres boring. Being “more human” is far better than perfection because at the end of the day, that’s what we all are – human.

Reebok asked me to chime in on two questions regarding fitness and how it’s made me more human and what role(s) it has played to make me feel more confident and empowered:

Fitness has helped me to be more human in my own life by allowing me to feel like I have a better head on my shoulders. After each run or cardio routine I push myself through, sometimes at the most unreasonable hours of the morning, I gain a sense of accomplishment that makes me feel unstoppable for the rest of the day, as well as mentally relaxed and focused. Fitness provides me with a more natural, human way of positive thinking, which makes me a happier person overall.

On a personal level, fitness instills confidence and drive when it comes to my personal endeavors because I mentally & physically feel better about myself. The internal endorphins I get with each workout and the external results I see in the mirror go hand-in-hand when providing me with a more optimistic outlook of my human self, inside and out.

Fitness gives me, and I’m sure many other women, a sense of empowerment that we take with us beyond the hours at the gym. They say there’s nothing sexier than a confident woman and I feel that fitness provides me with that natural feeling I can express on the outside.
