#ChangeItUp | College Fashion Week with ACUVUE®

Saturday, September 30th: I attended the 6th Annual Her Campus™ College Fashion Week, a special night that brings the catwalk to campus. CFW provides a VIP fashion week experience to the most influential college fashionistas and showcases fall’s must-have trends. For NYC, this year’s venue was held at Metropolitan West – an extremely spacious spot that hosted some of my favorite fashion & beauty brands sponsoring the evening.

This year I teamed up with ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses to cover the scene at CFW & showcase how I envision my chance to #ChangeItUp with new contacts. As someone who’s never had contacts before, this opportunity will be a new and exciting experience for me to be able to see clearly without the help of glasses that I’ve been used to since high school. Stay tuned for my experience getting fitted for my ACUVUE® Brand Contacts, coming to the blog next week!

Alongside myself, Krystin of Girl in Betsey & Teresa of Money Can Buy Lipstick also teamed up to share how they plan to #ChangeItUp with new contacts from ACUVUE®. All three of our experiences & outcomes are very different from one another’s, demonstrating the advantage of clear vision has a unique, personal meaning to everyone.

CFW is a place to “see and be seen” as the most stylish HerCampus event of the year. This is a night to preview the hottest fall trends and get pampered at our fashion show-meets-girls’ night out. Ulta Beauty had a whole glam squad giving attendees hair & makeup revamps all night long, including a chance to win a great prize giveaway of must-have beauty essentials! The best part? All attendees get to leave with a goody bag full of swag and #stylegoals for days. What’s not to love!?

CFW partnered with its headlining fashion sponsor Primark to showcase the best in fall style and beauty. This evening featured (3) shows featuring pieces from some up-and-coming brands, including Avec Les Filles, VETTACleobella, XIX Palms, and VICI, all complemented by Primark’s current collections, with a 4th finale show highlighting up-to-the-minute trends in head to toe Primark looks.

My favorite look from this walk was the black leather overall dress, with a close second favorite of an all-red satin inspired pajama look that I really want to try for myself. The garnet & black color scheme was top notch – also very in my liking as my college colors were exactly the same!

Another fantastic thing to mention is the beauty of each of the runway models. These are real local college women of all backgrounds, shapes, and sizes, authentically representing the beauty of every body type. I love how CFW hosts the nation’s most fashion-obsessed collegiettes to come together in a fun, empowering, inclusive setting to celebrate their bodies and fashion as a form of self-expression. There’s nothing more beautiful than that.
