It’s taken me longer than necessary to jump on the blazer bandwagon but now that I’m here, there’s no chance of letting it go! Incorporating a blazer over any outfit instantly sophisticates it – from jeans to dresses & everything in-between. And especially for Spring, it’s the best lightweight outerwear layer solution once the temps get above 60 degrees F.
With Easter fast approaching, here are two outfit ideas with spring blazers you can feel comfortably cool wearing to a casual family gathering or for a dressier day of observance. Both would be suitable for any environment you may find yourself in this Holy Week/end.
Boyfriend Blazer: ASOS | Gingham Pants: Petal & Pup (sign up for waitlist if size is S/O) | Crop Tank: South Moon Under | Sneakers: Frye
YSL Clutch | Earrings: Francesca’s
When considering staple blazers one should have in their wardrobe, one should be an oversized boyfriend fit in a neutral color. I personally always have a need for beige, black & white since they go with just about everything in my closet – color wise. However, this beige one might be my most-worn out of the several blazers I’ve acquired this Spring so far. It just goes with everything & fits so comfortably well while still appearing chic despite the purposeful looser fit.
If these fun gingham pants aren’t for you but the Easter vibe is still casual of a gathering, swap them out for a flare fit pair of denim. I love the look of blazers with jeans – even when oversized over a wide flare; just pair with a more fitted bodysuit or crop top underneath that gives enough coverage as deemed appropriate for you.
Long Blazer: Amazon ‘The Drop’ (also comes in beige!) | Floral Dress: Abercrombie | White Booties: Marc Fisher
Croc Bag: Staud | Earrings: Francesca’s
When blazers & dresses collide, you have a whole new approach to spring layering suitable for any Easter celebration! Personally, I’d opt for the same white sneakers shown in the first look but a pair of simple white booties help to elevate it if you’re looking to do so. Funny enough, both the sneakers & booties in these two looks are the same ones I wore for my wedding! Another reason why going the comfortable route tends to be more evergreen of an investment.
But back to this Easter Outfit idea – as mentioned earlier, another staple blazer to consider owning is a structured long one. Again, a neutral solid color would serve you best in terms of wearability. I absolutely love how it looks over this floral maxi dress, allowing the pops of green in the print to truly stand out, while maintaining emphasis on its chicness over my shoulders.
I love both of these outfits! A white blazer is such a great wardrobe staple, indeed.
I hope you are having a great week so far!
