Happy Hump Day Friends! Can you believe we’re already in May!? The weather sure doesn’t reflect this time of year in NYC just yet, but the amount of Justin Timberlake memes I’ve seen today says otherwise.
A lot happened this April & even more is scheduled for my May calendar! I’ve never been this busy in my life, personally AND professionally. Definitely not complaining though – I love having things to look forward to each week & the consistency of having set working hours is beyond helpful. Here are some of the highlights of April & what’s on the agenda for May!
APRIL RECAP:
I went on my first weekend getaway trip with a guy (EVER). Granted this ‘guy’ is my boyfriend, but regardless it was my first spontaneous road trip with a male companion. Here’s a recap of our 48 hours in Greenport, NY.
I tried two new workout classes this month: Rumble & Jane Do. Personally, I felt like they were a bit on the “lighter side” for me because I’m so used to getting my ass kicked in 30/60/90 but both were good sweat sessions nonetheless. I’ll probably hold off on taking another Rumble class for the time being, but will definitely be taking Jane Do in the mornings I’m in Jersey City. It reminded me of my HIIT class with a stronger focus on sculpting, which I totally needed & felt the effects of after class.
After weighing the pros over the cons, I ended up sharing my most PERSONAL IG yet last week on my blog platform…It’s something I’ve NEVER talked about but felt like it would make a difference for someone, like me, in a similar situation. Ultimately, I’m very happy to have found the courage to expose this degree of vulnerability & more relieved than ever to have received so many kind messages of support and praise for sharing my story instead of negative opinions. It truly means the world to me & I couldn’t be more appreciative for those of you who reached out to me xx
WHAT’S HAPPENING IN MAY:
May is going to be the month I start taking floral arrangement classes. I’ve always wanted to & provided I’m a hardcore plant-enthusiast, I feel like this will be a beneficial use of my limited free time.
This will also be the month of traveling weekends! I’ll be in Newport, RI this weekend because of my boyfriend’s sailing schedule & to hang with friends who will also be there this Sat/Sun. Looking forward to exploring the town & sipping lotsa wine on boats – a great pregame to the summer season!
I’m also going to Amsterdam for one week with my boyfriend! He’s going for work, so I found this as an opportunity to explore one of my favorite cities for the 2nd time (I was 22 when I first visited.)
If anyone reading this is from Amsterdam/coincidentally will be there later this month & is a blogger/photographer, I’d love to connect!
…
Your IG post was very open. I think you helped many people sharing your story. I get your feelings about traveling with a guy. It’s a big step. Safe travels!
Thank you so so much for your encouragement!! xx
What a fantastically fun time for you! The visions of sailing Newport are all I need today to get me off daydreaming about a spectacular visit there. Have always wanted to do the Cliff Walk. Enjoy! Am so glad to see you learning so many new things! It the topic of my post tomorrow and I think a key component to aging gracefully!
Thank you Elizabeth!! I’m so excited! I’ve heard so many great things – hoping I have time for the Cliff Walk! xx
