Clearly the inspiration behind this stems from the release of Estee Lauder’s Modern Muse fragrance that dares us to be bold wherever we go and in whatever we wear. Personally I view the color red as an attention-seeker and am often intimidated to wear it. So with this challenge I’ve taken for myself, sporting a red romper was definitely a step out of my comfort zone. However the verdict of my experience proved to be confidence-driven – I didn’t realize how powerful this color could make me feel, which is something we all deserve to experience. It’s been one year since my Grandfather passed away and there hasn’t been a day he didn’t cross my mind in thought of remembrance. He was larger than life, the definition of “bold” – from serving the country to climbing Mt. Fuji while finding time to enjoy the simple pleasures of life is something remarkable. His thirst for adventure has been passed down and I strive to live a life as fulfilling as his own. The last handwritten letter I received from him and the signature red handkerchief he had tucked in his back pocket sit on the shelf next to my bed. They’re both my constant reminders to never give up – even if I’m not the best at what I do, the ambition to just do it is what I’ll take away from the experience. Rest easy big man.
