Happy Tuesday! I’ve teamed up with my blogger babes for this four-part holiday series, featuring outfits for the occasions this November & December. Today’s feature is all about what to wear for Thanksgiving dinner. Read along and be sure to check out my fellow bloggers’ looks for more inspiration ;]
Thanksgiving is one of those holidays where you either dress to the nines or dress as casually as physically possible, depending on your family tradition and habits. In my family, were on the cusp of looking presentable while feeling comfortable when it comes to dressing for dinner. Not gonna lie, the pressure is on for me – in my own mind – to find that perfect balance…because I decided to write a blog about dressing for each and every day and occasion.
Details: Tarte leggings – similar | J.Crew sweater | vintage denim jacket | JustFab booties – similar | Forever 21 necklace
So here’s what I came up with: the comfortable yet aesthetically pleasing ensemble for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. All the pieces I’m wearing are comfortable, from top to bottom and yes, that includes the booties. I made the mistake one year of wearing tighter pants which resulted in the button popping off and spinning like a quarter on the wood floor, coincidentally at the conclusion of dinner and during that silence which comes with a full meal. It couldn’t be any more humiliating. Therefore, stretchy pants = more room to grow and a sweater to cover up the bloat.
A denim jacket up top and booties on the bottom are two pieces that make this outfit casual yet put-together. I opted for curing my now shorter locks and adding a gold-plated bib necklace for a dressier appearance, considering those two parts of my outfit will be showing the most at the table when we sit down. And there you have it, an outfit looking a lot less planned than it actually was. It’s all about the work that goes into the look behind-the-scenes, am I right? Shop similar below:

Love the casual style. And YES…the booties and necklace give it that touch of dressed up feel.
I love all these looks. And that sweater looks comfy!
So fun to see several looks! I usually err on the side of comfortable and casual but still like to look nice, so this is perfect. Those pants would be great!

Love your outfit, and your holiday story. I am with you on stretchy leggingish pants for holiday dinners. I think we have all been there after a really yummy holiday meal. I usually am stuck to my chair after because I’m too full to move. I’m kind of kidding. 🙂

Love the look and I like the weight of your leggings, they’re not skin tight, I’ll have to give the leggings another look. I haven’t worn them in years.
I love the look. Such a great Fall outfit. Thank you for sharing.
I love this look – comfy yet lovely!
Katherine of The Style Tab is an awesome fashionista.
You looks… okay.
Rocking in those red pants 😀
Love this look, especially the thought behind waking it up with the gold bib necklace – I always want to wear the most fabulous shoes, and then they sit under a table most of the time! Thanks so much for linking to #allaboutyou, tweeting this out now, and hope you can join in again tomorrow! x
