With Thanksgiving upon us, I’m sure 70% of us are mentally thinking about what we’ll end up wearing. Given the fact I’m based in the Northeast, my outfit of the evening will most likely reflect the current weather & temperatures we’re dealing with. After an un-seasonally warm fall, the tundra has arrived in full effect and I’m finding myself wearing a bulky knit sweater and scarf combo while writing this post. Sigh.

Depending what kind of atmosphere your Thanksgiving entails, your outfit can range from causal to dressy to full-on glam. My family is more on the casual side, so the ensembles amongst our dinner table attendees reflect variations of blouses, denim, and ankle booties.
Although I do like to slightly dress up for the once-a-year occasion (outfit post coming this Friday), casual attire can still appear put together given the proper attention to detail.
Blouses with sleeve details (i.e. ruffles) give more of an appeal to a cozy, sweatshirt-like top. Fitted jeans are way more flattering to the body, especially if the top chosen is more on the flowy side. Booties with a slight heel give an added lift to appear more elongated, which is comfortable along with flattering.

This is so cute! I am loving all the ruffles lately. I am thinking about pulling the trigger on a ruffle sleeve sweater on Nordstrom for the big feast.
Hope you have a great holiday.

I’m not even a huge fan of red (school uniform color for quite a few years, sigh) but I’m so in love with the color of this top. Totally digging the sleeves too! And those boots? AMAZING.
