Considering the bipolar weather in South Carolina went from 39 degrees yesterday to 70 degrees today, I might as well tackle this confusion concerning the question, ‘What the hell do I wear when it feels like spring in winter?” I always wonder if the unspoken rules of what is fashion & color appropriate per season is still applied when its the end of January and the temperature outside screams for me to go to the pool. Well, I definitely would hold off on the corals and pastels for now; those are best saved for early April. I made slight adjustments to my usual go-to look of leggings, open cardigans, and combat boots by incorporating a neon green tank. I know, neon. It is safe to assume that a pastel or flowery color would better suit this look, but the neon actually brings out the black and cream colors of my other two pieces in a positive way. The flow-y nature of the shirt works well with the draped cardigan, and doesn’t wash out the piece like a pastel color would. The black and cream neutral colors are not as visual to the eye as the neon green, but they are not forgotten either, which still shows the elements of winter style with calmer colors.
I also switched up my stacks of arm candy for the week, using silver, gold, and rose gold metals with neon pink and orange accent colors. All together, this look is a nice transitional outfit towards the spring season.
