I find myself changing up my winter skincare routine almost every month, depending on the ‘harshness’ of the weather’s temperature + my current environment. This season’s sub-zero situation, along with the fact I live in a polluted city, has my skin more irritated than ever before! It’s taken several experimentations with a variety of products to determine which routine works best for my very dry skin at the moment.
WHAT I’M CURRENTLY USING ON MY SKIN
Sunday Riley Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream
Apply every morning to achieve a visible, hydrated glow.
La Mer Creme De La Mer Moisturizing Cream
Intense moisture you’ll feel for hours after application. Highly recommend for the driest & most dehydrated winter skin.
Alchimie Forever Antioxidant Refining Scrub
I use this 2-3x a week with an exfoliating spin brush. My face feels and appears unbelievably soft after one use.
Image Skincare Vital C Facial Cleanser
This cleanser does wonders to your skin & smells like freshly squeezed oranges!
Glow Recipe Watermelon Sleeping Mask
Literally smells like watermelon and makes my skin look & feel amazing every morning following application.
Dermalogica Stress Positive Eye Lift
Fantastic tool for targeting dark circles & puffiness around the eyes – my savior for dealing with the aftermath of all-nighters…
Now when it comes to my makeup routine, I rarely change it up. Makeup isn’t my strongest suit so once I find something that works for me, I generally stick to it for as long as I can. I’ve been lucky to find products that agree with my face & not cause breakouts over time. Once & a while I’ll find an under-the-skin blemish, but generally my skin remains very clear while using these makeup products (ps, most of them can be purchased at your local drugstore!)
MY EVERY DAY MAKEUP
Covergirl Outlast All-Day Primer
Best drugstore primer to use as a reliable base for setting your makeup.
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer Liquid Foundation
Includes SPF and blends naturally while evening your skin tone with a small tint of color.
Bobbi Brown Instant Full Cover Concealer Stick
Best applied underneath the eyes to conceal those dark circles.
BareMinerals Original Foundation Powder
I’ve been using this foundation for years & still love how it sits softly on my face while helping me achieve that natural airbrushed look.
Pixi by Petra Brow Tamer Serum / IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil
Serum to help maintain the growth pattern of my brows / The best eyebrow pencil I’ve ever used; works for every brow color!
Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara
Perfect for people with thin, short, or tiny lashes that need the extra boost of volume.
Almay Intense I-Color Liquid Eyeliner
The simplest eyeliner I’ve ever used; fab for creating the Cat Eye.
Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color ‘Lilac’
A rosy earth-tone color that enhances the natural color of the lips.
NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray
Holds your entire makeup routine together for hours and hours on end, with little to no need for reapplication!
um, love this roundup! so many goodies I can’t wait to try!
