Layers rarely make it past the belt. In other words, the art of layering often translates to a tee, sweater and jacket stacked on top of one another. This time around, I took the road less travelled and opted for a dress-on-dress situation and I’ll have to admit, I didn’t think this experimentation would turn out as satisfactory.
With only the skirt of the skater dress peeking out below the thermal-knit maxi, the two-tier layers maintain a natural high-low feel. This faux leather jacket is 1) typical of me to wear and 2) providing one more level of warmth and a touch of edginess. Slip-on ankle boots (a must-have) and a knit beanie keep things casual, which is just the way I like it.
Also, the sun was setting HARDCORE during this shoot and gave me a gorgeous Doritos orange glow. Thinking I should get this shade spray tanned…or nah. Shop similar below:
