Fall weddings are as beautiful as we all imagine them to be, rain or shine. I was lucky to partake in the celebrations two weekends ago with my best friend at her wedding – which inspired me in more ways than one for that future moment in my life that’s still far out of reach. But hey, there’s never a wrong time to plan ahead or at least keep the ideas in mind.

Taken from the point-of-view of a fall wedding guest, this is what I would decide to wear, rain or shine. For starters, the colors of this dress scream “fall foliage” without being “leafy” in pattern. It’s important to note most weddings are held outdoors, which means most of us would like to match the scenery – or at least keep it consistent.

That being said, heels are a no-go and the chances of the temperature being chilly are likely. So opting for a pair of ankle boots with a slight heel still gives off an elegant approach but in a more realistic manner. And for the chilly temps, a waxed jacket that also protects against sudden showers – trust me, it can happen – helps keep the dress dry and ready for the reception. Shop similar below:
