Back in my middle & high school years, I ran track and absolutely loved it. Still to this day, I love having the ability to run outside during the spring, summer, and early fall seasons. However, it took a while for me to get back to this state of “loving” it because of a painful, chronic injury that kept me from even the lightest form of jogging…

During my Sophomore year of high school, I developed Compartment Syndrome in both my calves as a result of increased muscle mass. For a solid year I felt like I had a permanent charley horse in both legs. Needless to say this was incredibly painful to tolerate, even walking felt torturous. The only options I had were 1) surgery, and 2) physical therapy to relieve the pressure & pain.

During this time, I was Nationally ranked as a horseback rider & working towards receiving a full-ride to compete on a collegiate NCAA Division 1 team. Therefore, if I received surgery then I wouldn’t have been able to ride for the 6 months that counted the most for recruitment. So my only option was to receive physical therapy for a year, which I did 2x a week at Lenox Hill.

Slowly but surely I regained strength in my calves and with the amazing assistance of my doctor, I got back to a state of being able to run again! However, I still have to take it easy with certain conditions: such as the ground I run on (pavement vs dirt) and limiting activities that request me to bounce on my toes (i.e. jumping jacks.)

I’m very lucky to be able to run again but I still would feel hesitant here & there; I felt like my legs were stronger on some days more than others. I craved more support, similar to a calf compression sleeve but without the extreme level of tightness in a localized area. So I was super excited to try out these CW-X Endurance Generator Tights after reading about the dual muscle & joint support provided.

Not only are my calves fully supported during each run, but so are my knees, hips, quads, & hamstrings! With maximum shock absorption & stability, every run I go on wearing these tights feels increasingly reassuring. If you’re someone with an ongoing injury, then I highly suggest getting a pair of these; they will change your life & allow you to fall in love with running again.
